Classical Japanese Martial Arts Training
The Nagakomyou Dojo preserves and teaches traditional Japanese martial arts in their classical form. Our curriculum consists of jujutsu (unarmed combat) and kenjutsu (swordsmanship) applications — through disciplines that were developed hundreds of years ago for real conflict and refined through generations of traditional instruction.
This is structured, disciplined training rooted in genuine historical Japanese budo.

Kato Sensei's Tennen Rishin Ryu Makimono
At this time we offer classes in two martial systems that compliment each other. They are our Jujutsu (Unarmed) and Kenjutsu (Swordsmanship) classes.
Our Jujutsu class is comprised of classical grappling, striking and throwing techniques that are presented in a ground up manner that allows each practitioner to begin with no experience and progress through each level with increasing levels of mental and physical ability. Classes are very straight forward. Technical proficiency and understanding are emphasized and ultimately tested at an appropriate level with each rank test.
Our Kenjutsu class is directly associated with Kato Kyoji Sensei of the Tennen Rishi Ryu Bujutsu Hozonkai out of Tokyo, Japan. We are a recognized Keikokai of Kato Sensei's organization, which means he acknowledges our association and the material we present in that class is directly tied to his curriculum. Kato Sensei's classes are renowned for being practical and aggressive.

The Bujinkan Honbu Dojo
If you are of the age of 18+ and interested in viewing or joining a class please click on either of the two buttons below. We do make exceptions for individuals aged 13+ that show sincere dedication and a willingness to work hard.
Our monthly rate for either class is $75 per month. Students that take both classes receive a 33% discount on the 2nd class, which would amount to $125 per month for both classes. Immediate family members receive the same discount on any additional child or adult dojo member (i.e. the first member is $75 per month and any additional class or student is $50 per month). Please inquire for any necessary clarifications.
Our Jujutsu class meets Wednesday 7:30pm-8:15pm (beginners), 8:15-9:00pm (advanced), Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm (all levels) and Saturday 11:30am-12:45pm (all levels).
Our Kenjutsu class meets Saturday from 12:45pm-1:30pm (all levels) and other select times.
